MY NAME IS FIGHT!

My name is Fight, and I am funky!
My name is Fight, the one and only!

I did not come to fun around
’til I get your 6 marbles I won’t leave this board
Without a pistol, without a gun
When you see my style, you’ll be havin’ fun
I ain’t sayin’ I’m better, no better than you
But if you wanna play with me, you better know the rules

My name is Fight, and I am funky!
My name is Fight, the one and only!
My name is Fight!
My name is Fight!
My name is Fight!
My name is Fight!
My name is Fight!
My name is Fight!

Lyrics inspired from My Name Is Prince, track 1 from Prince album Love Symbol (1992).

Prince died on April 21 at the age of 57. FightClub is still alive, as evidenced by this blog!

Friedrich Nietzsche

[…] in our meditative consciousness, the consequences of different actions which we think we are able to carry out present themselves successively, one after the other, and we compare these consequences in our mind. We think we have come to a decision concerning an action after we have established to our own satisfaction that the consequences of this action will be favourable. Before we arrive at this conclusion, however, we often seriously worry because of the great difficulties we experience in guessing what the consequences are likely to be, and in seeing them in their full importance, without exception — and, after all this, we must reckon up any fortuitous elements that are likely to arise.

Fear of losing or desire to win?

July 7, 2019

(Liverpool Football Club manager Jürgen Klopp)

“I do not believe that it’s the fear of losing, that makes you a winner. It’s rather the desire to win. That desire lets you grow beyond your own possibilities. It makes you strong.”

Jürgen Klopp, German football manager and former player (1967-)

Alea iacta est: the die is cast… in the garbage!

June 30, 2019

(Lisa Rougetet in january 2018)

The intervention of chance in a game is, in a way, a mechanism that takes the decisions out of the player’s hand. As combinatorial games are determinated, that is, without chance, there is a finite set of possible solutions, and therefore there is always a succession of moves which leads to victory (or to a draw). We can therefore build a winning strategy, which leaves full control to the player over the game, even if he has to anticipate the opponent’s moves.

Mindgames are for everyone.

(source: Gallica)

°

Jacques Ozanam, French mathematician (1640-1718)

they instruct the Young, and divert the Old;
they are not beneath the Rich,
not above the ability of the Poor;
they may be used by either
Sex
without
transgressing the Bounds of Modesty.”
